MARY CLARE GLASSENBURY as “SOPHIE”

Mary Clare has just completed Year 11 and is about to embark on her final year of VCE. Acting is her main interest outside of school. She took acting classes at The Peninsula School, before joining “Acting Up at the House” in Term 1 and continuing in Term 4 in 2003. She is also very keen on writing, as she took accelerated literature this year as one of her subjects. In the future, she would like to be involved in the acting industry, either through acting or writing scripts - or perhaps both.

She is also interested in journalism. Mary Clare loves acting because it allows her to have fun and be silly, such as when the Acting Up course involved an acting improvisation speaking only gibberish. This exercise enabled the class to view the importance of movement and unspoken actions relevant to acting.
