Jennifer Hansen as “Franklin Storey”
Jennifer graduated from Melbourne University with an Arts degree majoring in English Literature and Criminology. While at university she worked part time, writing for Melbourne newspapers The Southern Cross and The Sunday Observer. She accepted a cadetship at Channel Ten while completing her final year.
Jennifer has a very keen interest in the arts and her creative talents include oil painting, creative writing and playing the piano and flute. She has made regular appearances on Good Morning Australia and hosted Fashions on the Field as part of the Channel Ten broadcast of the Spring Racing Carnival. She has also worked as a fill-in for the Late Night News nationally, and during 1994 she worked as a presenter and journalist on Ten’s nationally televised Alan Jones Live.
As an actor, Jennifer was involved with St Martin’s Youth Theatre and played leads in Sweeny Todd The Barber and Medea. She is also an accomplished singer and musician, performing at the Starry Night Ball and in cabaret at Capers.
This year Jennifer has been exploring opportunities in radio, filling in for Richard Stubbs on ABC Radio 774 and working with the Victorian Racing Club (VRC) promoting the Melbourne Cup Carnival overseas.
Jennifer is, however, best known as the face of Channel Ten News in Melbourne along with Mal Walden where she hosted the main news bulletin for more than a decade.
