Sarah Penn: Assistant Director

Raised on the Mornington Peninsula, Sarah participated in several amateur theatre productions and local plays during her school years. After undertaking work experience at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and completing courses at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), she was well and truly bitten by the acting bug.

Sarah went on to complete a Master of Arts in Theatre Practices from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), graduating in September, 2005 and is a qualified primary school teacher and secondary drama teacher completing her Bachelor of Arts (Drama)/Bachelor of Teaching degrees in June of 2003.

Sarah’s directing credits include Assistant Director to Leith McPherson on Caryl Churchill’s Mad Forest (WAAPA), Assistant Director to Andrew Lewis on Brian Friel’s Dancing At Lughnasa (WAAPA) and Director of several devised pieces for the School of Contemporary Arts, Perth.
