Special Guest Artist: Ross Ryan
Ross Ryan wrote himself into Australian music history with the Gold album My Name Means Horse in 1974, which contained the Number One hit song I Am Pegasus. Since then, he has worked and toured with people as varied as Van Morrison, Dr Hook, Roy Orbison, and Roberta Flack, and as a songwriter composed not only seven of his own albums, but material for artists including John Farnham and Slim Dusty.
He has received music awards from the Australian Performing Rights Association, the Federation of Australian Radio Stations (Record of the Year), a healthy number of gold albums and even a King of Pop trophy!
In recent times Ross was featured on the final episode of ABC TV’s Love Is In The Air celebrating the history of Australian popular song, and recently toured with fellow 1970’s pop idol and good friend Mark Holden for a series of casual acoustic concerts entitled Idol & Idle. He has appeared as guest celebrity gardener on Burke’s Backyard, and has just released his first album in a decade – One Person Queue. Also in the pipeline is the release of a live acoustic album and a comprehensive CD-DVD package highlighting Ross’s early EMI catalogue.

We would especially like to thank Ross for initially giving us permission to use his No. 1 hit song I Am Pegasus during the play, and then agreeing to actually perform it on stage live as part of the show. His generosity and support is most appreciated.
