CHASING Pegasus (a play in ten chords) begins its Mornington Peninsula season at Mt Martha House next Wednesday following its season at Gasworks Arts Park as part of the 2006 Melbourne Fringe Festival.

The play revolves around members of the Serendipity Book Club, a house- wife, two teenagers, a school teacher, an ex-singer, an author, a deaf girl, an accountant, a book shop owner and a shop assistant.

“In a world where strife and terror abounds, where we are cajoled to fear, distrust, fight and destroy that which we don’t understand, Chasing Pegasus is a celebration of what makes us different, and through that discovery, a recognition of what makes us ultimately the same,” the play’s writer director Sally Mclean, said. “Essentially, it is a story about finding the extraordinary in ourselves and our fellow man.”

The show arranged by Ms McLean, of Mornington, includes Ross Ryan performing his 1974 hit, “I Am Pegasus”, and newsreader Jennifer Hansen. Also in the cast are Peter Flaherty (“All Saints”), Kathleen Ronchi (“Henderson Kids”, “Prime Time”), Sarah Penn, Michael Clayton (“Dancing at Lughnasa”), Tanya McCall (“Hiding From Hitler”, “Nicholas Nickleby”), Hannah Fox, Bridget Neval (“Neighbours”, “Wicked Science”) and Charity Shaw.

Chasing Pegasus will be at Mt Martha House, Mt Martha, at 8pm, October 18-21 and 4pm on Sunday, October 22. Bookings http://incognita.eventix. com.au.
