Catherine Smith as “Sophie”

Catherine Smith is an actor and writer from Melbourne, Australia. She is best known for her role on ABC’s Myf Warhurst’s Nice, where she played a young Myf at her Debutante Ball. In 2015, Catherine graduated from the Full-Time Program at the Howard Fine Acting Studio. Since studying, she has gone on to work on a myriad of independent films and plays, co-hosted a live music show and toured with play, The Truth is Longer than a Lie. Her most recent film work was with Mad Alice Media on Fredrick Nelson and in a VCA graduate film titled Good Mourning.

While juggling all of this Catherine has recently graduated from a degree in Journalism, majoring in politics. 

She recently returned from living in Milan, Italy where she studied Commedia dell’arte with the Principal Company of the Piccolo Teatro of Milan. Whilst there she had the honour of being cast in The Toothpuller for a limited season, where she played Pedrolino. 

Catherine is proud to be a member of the North of Eight Theatre Company, alongside a talented ensemble of creatives. 

In 2020 she will be starring in Emily Sheehan’s Hell’s Canyon, for a statewide tour, before relocating to London to continue her work as an actor.
