Luke Toniolo: Director’s Assistant

Luke Toniolo’s tertiary education began at Box Hill Institute, graduating in 2014 with a Diploma of Sports Development and Event Management.

His ethic and qualifications lead to professional involvement within the community, executing the responsibilities of event management, marketing & communications for charities such as: Ride2work Day, the Melbourne Marathon and Tough Mudder.

Since his early engagements in sport science, Luke’s underlying creativity and passion for collaborative event management found its home within the industry of film and theatre.

Over the period of 2018-2019, this inward excitement for producing and starring in film and theatre projects rapidly progressed. Luke became a key figure in the creation of the independent film Verite (2020), securing a lead acting role as well as co-producing the film alongside chief writer and director Luke C Jackson.

In addition to Verite, 2019 continued to be a fruitful year for Luke’s film endeavours. He was involved in the 2019 Melbourne Fringe Festival, producing a fund-raising event for the independent theatre production Share House. The ticketed event was held at The Emerson Rooftop Bar and Club with captivating entertainment ranging from magic tricks through to burlesque performance. All proceeds from the night went towards the Share House production & venue costs.

2019 was capped off with Luke’s graduation from the Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia. Since graduating, Luke’s excitement for acting has developed into a steadfast ambition, perpetually seeking to cultivate his skill base as an actor.

In addition, Luke maintains many complementary artistic ventures. His creativity is developing via outlets such as learning the guitar, learning singing and vocal performance and reading a wide range of literature, covering topics such as theatre, politics & human behaviour.
