REVIEW:
Chasing Pegasus – A Play In Ten Chords
Book Depository
(review of published play)
Having seen the premier production of this play in Melbourne in 2006, and loving it, I was anxious to get hold of the book for my theatre collection. I managed to get a copy as soon as it was publicly available in Australia in October and have read it twice since then with avid delight. The published book is full of information about the play, as well as the full text of the play itself, with cast photos and biographies (including Jennifer Hansen – Channel 10 newsreader – who played “Franklin” and Bridget Neval from “Neighbours” who played “Amelia” and even Ross Ryan who performed his single “I Am Pegasus” during the show), photographs from the 2006 season, character breakdowns, set layouts and more. A fantastic present for any actor who is looking for contemporary monologues to add to their collection – as the play has 10 of these – all well-written and insightful. Useful for Drama Teachers as well who are looking for new material for their classes. Highly recommended.
